West Catholic wins PIAA Class AA state championship with 50-14 win

HERSHEY, Pa. – Totaling more than 500 yards worth of offense, West Catholic
clobbered previously undefeated South Fayette, 50-14, Saturday in a P.I.A.A. Class AA
state championship game at Hershey Park Stadium.


The Burrs set a record for points scored in a Class AA final. In 2007, Jeanette, led by
 current Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor, defeated Dunmore, 49-21.

Down by 7-6 at the end of the first quarter, West Catholic (13-2) erupted for 30
points and led, 36-14, at intermission. The Lions, of District 7, closed with a 15-1 record.
